Growing up in a family of horse trainers in Southern New Mexico, Randie kept busy at an early age training thoroughbred horses. When she was a Junior Hunter/ Jumper competitor, she also began her career as a trainer. In 1998 she operated a competitive training program in Albuquerque. Furthering her knowledge with horses, Randie graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from New Mexico State University. An opportunity to train and work for Canadian Gran Prix competitor Jay Duke facilitated her move to Larkspur, Colorado. There she trained many of the horses on the circuit today. Randie traveled, trained, competed and taught on the Hunter/Jumper “A’ circuit while with Jay. Prior to her arrival at Normandy in 2001, she rounded out her experience in Canada with top Canadian trainer Cheryl Anderson. While at Normandy Randie has trained in Holland and Italy. |
