Christine & Stan Penton
Owners

S
tan and Christine Penton left successful careers in southern California in the hotel and resort business, a typical southern California lifestyle that consisted of stylish attire, places to go and people to see, a lot of stress, and day care for young son, Mckenzie.Today they own one of the last remaining private stables in the Denver area.
In October of 1995 Christine fell in love with Normandy Farms and Stables on west Coal Mine Avenue in Littleton. Originally she and Stan were going to buy an upscale horse property in Littleton and continue with their careers. The big 3500 sq. ft. Colorado style home complete with walk out basement was in the plans. However after a visit with friends in England who raised horses, Christine really became excited about having her own stables and as she states, "returning to her childhood dream and complete obsession with the 4 legged creature." Ironically after returning to the states, she received a call from her Realtor about Normandy Farms.
It was in need of a complete overhaul, both the land and the business needed trained professionals with a lot of drive, energy and vision. Who better than a horsewoman, trained in marketing, who has ridden and competed since she was nine years old, and her husband, who has ridden and was General Manager for Pritikin Longevity Center in Santa Monica.
Normandy Farms and Stables has provided the community with Equestrian Training and services for over 90 years. In the early 1900's the stable housed the Tivoli Brewing Company Draft horses. The Farm has raised some of the best horses and riders in the area. They are minutes from trail access and conveniently located near riding clubs and equine veterinary facilities.

Christine believes that, "When we are working for our livelihood, things stay in perspective. When we are working for the extras we become accustomed to them and it becomes expectation based upon greed, then we become jaded. We lack the satisfaction of a job well done and accomplished by oneself." Christine and Stan want to recreate a sense of community in this area that existed when the Littleton Depot was a gathering spot for the telegraph men to dismiss gossip. Going back to the basics has been an exhilarating experience for this family and they surely do have a glow about them and a lot of excitement in the air.
The Penton's are saddened that Normandy Farms is now one of the last remaining full service stables within easy commute to the Denver metro area. Stan and Christine are none the less thrilled to continue the tradition, offering Denver and Littleton and surrounding communities quality horse boarding, training and lessons as well as programs.

Thanks to the Penton's Normandy Farms will continue as a Littleton Tradition!
